Carabinieri from the Naples Bagnoli company conducted an extraordinary control operation in the Pianura neighborhood, combing streets and premises from early evening until late at night.
The operation, carried out with the support of motorcyclists from the mobile radio unit and the dog unit, resulted in 115 people being checked – 71 of whom had previous convictions – and 7 reports being filed against the same number of individuals.
Two 21-year-olds reported for pursuit after a traffic stop
The first report concerns two young men from the neighborhood, both 21 and already known to law enforcement. Riding a scooter, they attempted to evade a police stop, but the chase ended quickly thanks to the intervention of motorcyclists, who stopped the vehicle within minutes.
Both were charged with resisting a public official, while one of the two – already under house arrest – will also be charged with escape.
Supermarket irregularities: €3.400 fine
The inspections were also extended to commercial businesses, with the assistance of the Naples Labor Inspectorate. A supermarket on Via San Donato was targeted, where officers found several workplace health and safety violations. The owner was reported and fined €3.417.
Whiplash and driving without a license: more reports
During the operation, a 21-year-old man from Grumo Nevano, already known to law enforcement, was reported for being in possession of a metal truncheon. A 34-year-old man from Quarto was also arrested for driving a vehicle despite never having held a driver's license.
A further complaint for escape involved a 42-year-old resident of Via Torricelli, who was absent from his home despite being under house arrest.
The balance: 49 vehicles checked and 5 drug-related reports
The operation also involved traffic control: 49 vehicles were stopped, with 11 fines issued for traffic violations. Five young people were reported to the Prefecture for possession of small quantities of narcotics.
