Naples – A crackdown on nighttime safety in the municipalities at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. In a joint operation involving the local Carabinieri and the Fire Department, serious public safety violations were discovered, leading to the immediate suspension of recreational activities and several complaints. The municipalities of Torre del Greco, Ercolano, Cercola, and Pollena Trocchia were under scrutiny.

The nightclub trap: 270 more people than allowed

The most critical incident occurred in Pollena Trocchia, at the popular Mama Ines Club nightclub located on Via Garibaldi. During the inspection, officers found a high-risk situation for the safety of patrons. Inside the venue, certified to hold a maximum of 400 people, there were 670 young people crammed together.

In addition to overcrowding, the security situation appeared seriously compromised: the smoke detection system was out of order, the number of security personnel was insufficient and, even more alarming, the emergency exits were blocked.

The sole director of the management company was charged at large. The Carabinieri ordered the immediate suspension of operations, allowing the crowd to disperse outside without disturbing public order.

Torre del Greco, the "ghost" ballroom

Meanwhile, in Torre del Greco, checks uncovered a case of complete illegal operation. On Via delle Vigne, a 44-year-old man had set up a full-fledged dance hall inside a warehouse, operating without any administrative authorization or safety certification.

At the time of the raid, there were approximately 40 customers inside the makeshift facility. The owner was reported for unauthorized opening of a place of public entertainment or entertainment, and the business was shut down.

Dealing among the crowd

The operation also included efforts to combat drug dealing in nightlife areas. In Torre del Greco, a 45-year-old man with no criminal record was reported for being caught red-handed while selling a dose of cocaine to a buyer.

A similar scenario occurred in Ercolano, in the “Terrazza Due Golfi” parking lot, where the police identified another dealer in possession of several doses of marijuana ready for sale.
