He didn't stop at the checkpoint and tried to escape until the very end, but his attempt ended with him being arrested. It happened yesterday evening in Ponticelli, a neighborhood in the eastern part of Naples, Where the State Police arrested a 23-year-old Neapolitan on charges of illegal possession of narcotics and resisting a public official.
Officers from the San Giovanni Barra Police Station, conducting a territorial patrol, noticed the young man riding a scooter on Strada Comunale dell'Oliva. Upon seeing the patrol and despite being ordered to stop, the boy suddenly accelerated, sparking a high-speed chase.
During his escape, the driver performed dangerous maneuvers, endangering the safety of other road users. The chase ended on Via Argine, where, while attempting to reverse, he fell heavily onto the asphalt. Despite this, he abandoned the scooter and attempted to escape on foot.
In an attempt to cover his tracks, the young man disposed of several small bags containing marijuana, weighing a total of 7,36 grams. The substance was immediately recovered by officers, who, after a struggle, managed to catch up with him and detain him. He also had €230 in cash, divided into bills of various denominations.
The incident ended with the arrest of the 23-year-old, who will now face the charges. Once again, local checks prove to be a crucial tool in combating drug dealing and widespread crime in city neighborhoods.
