Santa Maria Capua Vetere – A 57-year-old man, already known to law enforcement, was arrested yesterday afternoon by Carabinieri officers from the Santa Maria Capua Vetere Company's Operational and Radiomobile Unit on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell.

The operation, conducted as part of territorial control services aimed at combating drug dealing, brought to light a veritable drug "factory" in an apartment in the city.

The search and the discovery

The police focused their attention on the 57-year-old's home, where they conducted a search yesterday afternoon, February 19th. Once they entered the apartment, the discovery was immediate.

Cocaine, hashish, and money on the kitchen table

On the kitchen table, the Carabinieri found 18 doses of cocaine ready for sale and three pieces of hashish. The quantity of the drug, still in the packaging phase, suggests that the drug dealing activity was in full swing.

In addition to the drugs, investigators also seized €1.275 in cash, divided into small bills, clearly the proceeds of the illicit activity. Completing the seizure were precision scales and various materials for cutting and packaging the drugs.

In jail at the disposal of the Judicial Authority

At the conclusion of the operation, the 57-year-old was placed in handcuffs. The arrest was validated, and after the usual formalities, the man was taken to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison. He remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities, pending further developments in the case.
