An unsuspecting custodian of a veritable arsenal. Carabinieri officers from the Sant'Antimo station closed ranks around a 51-year-old local man, with no criminal record and unemployed, whose home concealed impressive offensive potential.
The operation began on February 8th when officers raided the man's property. No one was inside, but the search uncovered what appeared to be a ready-to-use warehouse.
From rocket launcher to pen gun
The weapons had been carefully hidden inside a metal pipe located in a shed attached to the house. The inventory drawn up by the military depicts a disturbing scene: six pistols, a blank pistol, an air rifle, several switchblades, and even a rocket launcher and a "pen pistol," a lethal weapon due to its ease of concealment.
Along with the iron pieces, a large quantity of ammunition was found, consisting of 212 bullets of various calibers and 380 cartridges.
The capture at Castel Volturno
After the discovery, a manhunt was launched immediately. The 51-year-old remained unaccounted for for approximately 24 hours, until the Carabinieri located him in Castel Volturno. The suspect had sought refuge at his uncle's home, where he was arrested without resistance. He is currently in prison awaiting trial.
Ballistic analysis in progress
The seized material is now in the hands of experts. The weapons will undergo specific ballistic tests to determine whether they were recently used in crimes or other crimes in the northern Naples area. Investigators are trying to determine whether the man was acting on his own or acting as a "custodian" for local criminal organizations.

This article presents a worrying situation. I don't know how a man with such an arsenal could have gone unsuspected. I hope the authorities take adequate measures to prevent similar cases in the future.
