Saviano – Several calls to the emergency number 112 yesterday evening reported the presence of a group of youths wandering the streets of Saviano armed with wooden clubs.
The calls triggered the intervention of the Carabinieri of the Nola Radiomobile section and the Piazzolla di Nola station.
The chase on Via Fressuriello
The police intercepted the youths on Via Fressuriello: three minors crammed into a two-seater minivan. Upon seeing the patrol, the youths attempted to flee, sparking a brief chase. During the chase, one of them threw a spare tire key out the window, attempting to hit the Carabinieri patrol car.
The arrest and the discovery
The escape lasted only a few minutes. The Carabinieri managed to block the vehicle and identify the three occupants: two sixteen-year-olds and a fifteen-year-old. A wooden club was found inside the vehicle, confirming the reports in the calls to 112.
The boys' version
The minors offered a justification to the military, a claim already heard in similar incidents: they had brought the bat with them to defend themselves from another group of their peers. This explanation did not prevent criminal charges.
Reported and entrusted to families
The three youths were reported and subsequently released to their parents. The incident refocuses attention on the phenomenon of child gangs and the use of potentially dangerous objects by young people on the streets of the towns in the Nola hinterland.

It's truly worrying that young people are found walking around armed with clubs. This situation must be addressed seriously, as it's not normal for minors to behave this way to defend themselves. We hope the authorities intervene.
