Padula – A serious traffic accident occurred this morning on the A2 "Autostrada del Mediterraneo" motorway, northbound between Lagonegro and Padula Buonabitacolo, in the province of Salerno. One person was killed and three injured.
Rear-end collision and causes to be clarified
According to initial information, for reasons still under investigation, a multi-vehicle collision occurred. The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
Rescue on site and closed stretch
Emergency medical services, traffic police, and ANAS teams responded to the scene of the accident, conducting rescue operations and managing the emergency. The affected section of the highway was temporarily closed to northbound traffic to allow for investigation and vehicle removal.
Diversions: Mandatory exit at Lagonegro Nord
Vehicles heading north are required to exit at Lagonegro Nord, continue along the SS585 and SS19, and then rejoin the motorway at the Padula Buonabitacolo junction.
