A 50-year-old man of Ghanaian origin was arrested on charges of assault and resisting arrest after seriously injuring a soldier during a routine check.
The alarm was raised following numerous reports to 112 from residents, alarmed by the man's harassing behavior toward passersby. The attack caused the soldier injuries that medical staff deemed curable within seven days. Subdued with some difficulty, the attacker was handcuffed and transferred to holding cells, where he is now awaiting trial.

Reading the news, I wonder how such things can happen in broad daylight. We must do something to improve safety in our neighborhoods; this must not happen again.
I don't know if what the man did was right, but I think the Carabinieri should be better prepared for situations like this. We need more street surveillance to prevent these terrible events from happening again.
The article is very informative, but there are some things that aren't clear. Why did the man react that way? Perhaps there was a reason behind his behavior. It's important to know.
