Naples - Non-stop drug dealing in the Porta Capuana area, which has long been under scrutiny by law enforcement. On Wednesday morning, state police arrested a 29-year-old from the Salerno area, Rosario Visconti, on charges of illegal possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The control in Vico Santa Caterina a Formiello
Officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue, conducting a territorial patrol, were passing through Vico Santa Caterina a Formiello when they noticed the young man acting suspiciously. Upon seeing the patrol, the man attempted to escape, taking refuge in an abandoned building, clearly intent on evading the patrol.
The search and seizure of crack
The police immediately followed him into the building, catching up and subduing him after a few moments. When searched, the 29-year-old was found in possession of 13 packages of crack cocaine and a €10 bill, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing. He was subsequently placed in handcuffs and arrested.
Porta Capuana under pressure from the police
The Porta Capuana area, considered one of the city's hottest areas for drug trafficking, continues to be the subject of targeted operations. The State Police announced that checks in the area will continue with the same intensity in the coming days in an effort to curb the retail drug trade.
