Benevento – Carabinieri officers from the Benevento Company's Operations and Mobile Unit conducted a raid, arresting four people caught red-handed for possession of narcotics with intent to sell. The operation uncovered an illegal operation involving an entire family.
Investigations and arrests
Officers arrested a 45-year-old man, already under house arrest, and his 47-year-old live-in partner, both of whom live in Benevento. The man's parents, aged 65 and 62, who live in Naples, were also arrested.
The drugs hidden in the garden
During a search of the 45-year-old's home, the Carabinieri found, buried in the garden, a vacuum-packed package containing 220 grams of cocaine and a 94-gram block of hashish. According to the findings, the narcotic substance had been delivered shortly before by the man's parents.
A precision scale, likely intended for packaging the doses, was also found and seized inside a storage room located beneath the building. The entire quantity of drugs and the material found were seized.
After the formal procedures were completed, the 45-year-old was transferred to prison, while his partner and parents were placed under house arrest in their respective homes.
