Late yesterday afternoon, February 1, 2026, the Carabinieri of the Pietramelara station reported two people at large for serious criminal and administrative violations. The incident occurred around 7:00 PM in Piazza San Rocco, where officers were conducting a traffic checkpoint.

When the Carabinieri ordered a brown Fiat Tipo to stop, the driver made a sudden and dangerous maneuver, attempting to run over the officers to avoid detection and fleeing.

The pursuit and identification

After a brief pursuit, the vehicle was caught and safely stopped. The driver was identified as a 28-year-old Indian man, resident in Aprilia, who was found to be without a driver's license, having never obtained one. Also in the vehicle was a 27-year-old Indian woman, who was found to be illegally residing in Italy.

Vehicle irregularities

Subsequent investigations revealed that the vehicle lacked the required mandatory insurance coverage. The license plates affixed to it were cloned and matched to another vehicle, registered to a resident of the province of Latina and not listed as a searchable item in the databases.

The Judicial Authority was informed by the Carabinieri of the Pietramelara Station.
