Contursi Terme – Traffic was difficult this morning along the A2 Autostrada del Mediterraneo. At the Contursi Terme exit, a tractor-trailer loaded with oranges overturned for reasons still under investigation, spilling part of its contents or otherwise blocking the roadway.
Fortunately, the accident did not cause any serious injuries: the driver of the heavy vehicle suffered only minor injuries and no other vehicles were reported involved.
Rescue and recovery
Mechanical rescue and ANAS teams responded to the scene to manage traffic. A company specializing in heavy vehicle movement was called in to remove the truck, an operation that took several hours.
The traffic situation
The incident caused serious delays and long traffic jams along the entire surrounding highway network. Traffic slowed significantly to allow the road to be secured and debris removed, with traffic returning to normal only in the early afternoon.

This accident with the overturned truck was a real blow to traffic. It's strange that a tractor-trailer loaded with oranges could cause so much trouble. I hope the driver is better and that things return to normal.
