Torre del Greco – This morning, tensions erupted at the port of Torre del Greco, where a man threatened to take his own life. The alarm was raised following an anonymous tip-off indicating a person intending to jump.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers from the Torre del Greco Police Station located a man in his forties, a resident of San Giorgio a Cremano, who was clearly agitated and kept repeating that he wanted to end it all. The individual had already climbed over the pedestrian safety railing, positioning himself beyond the parapet of the wall overlooking the port area.
Taking advantage of a moment of distraction, the police officers managed to grab him and pull him to safety, avoiding much more serious consequences. The man was then entrusted to the care of medical personnel.
According to what has emerged, the act was motivated by deep personal disappointment. The investigation and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
