The travel ban remains in place. Tar of Lazio rejected the precautionary appeals presented by the supporters' associations Rome, Naples e Fiorentina against the Ministry of the Interior's decrees that have suspended away matches until the end of the football season. The orders, filed today by the First Third Section of the Administrative Court, confirm the hard line adopted by the Ministry of the Interior following the serious incidents of violence along highways, the scene of clashes between opposing fans heading towards sports facilities.

According to the administrative judges, the restrictive measures are justified by the need to protect public order and collective safety, which has been seriously jeopardized by the behavior reported in recent months. The fans' requests for precautionary measures were therefore rejected, with one partial exception regarding Roma: the Regional Administrative Court (TAR) upheld the appeal only regarding the ban imposed on residents of provinces of Lazio other than Rome, deeming a more limited review of the measure necessary in that case.

The decree regarding Lazio fans, however, was not appealed and is therefore excluded from the proceedings. The TAR's decision reinforces the Interior Ministry's repressive strategy, confirming that incidents of violence related to organized fan support can justify widespread and long-term measures, even at the cost of penalizing thousands of supporters who were not involved in the disturbances.

It's a complicated situation because the fans wanted to be able to travel to watch their teams. But on the other hand, I understand that safety is important. I hope a compromise can be found in the future to avoid these problems.
