He allegedly carried out a scam against an elderly man, extorting approximately two thousand euros. For this, a 44-year-old man, resident in Campania, was arrested by the Carabinieri pursuant to an order issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Matera.
The incidents date back to last November and allegedly occurred in Montescaglioso, in the Matera province, where the victim, an elderly man, was allegedly defrauded in a manner now being investigated by investigators. After the complaint was filed and investigations conducted by the Carabinieri, the judicial authorities ordered the suspect to be placed under house arrest, with the use of an electronic tag.
The order was carried out by the Carabinieri, who tracked down the 44-year-old and enforced the restrictive measure. The investigation aims to reconstruct the details of the scam and verify any further similar incidents. Once again, investigators are focusing their attention on crimes that affect the most vulnerable segments of the population, often targeted with techniques designed to exploit trust and vulnerability.
