Naples – M5S provincial coordinator Carmela Auriemma denounces the new job cuts at Trasnova in Pomigliano d'Arco and calls on Minister Urso to urgently address Stellantis. Twenty workers are on strike today against 53 layoffs announced since April 30.
The anger of the Trasnova workers
Employees of Trasnova, a company specializing in vehicle handling at the Stellantis plant in Pomigliano d'Arco, are experiencing a profound crisis. Today, about twenty workers walked out to protest the mass layoffs, decided following the automaker's failure to renew orders.
Starting April 30, 53 workers—including fathers and mothers—will be left without jobs, despite an extension already granted in the past.
Carmela Auriemma's alarm
"It's a shocking situation, filled with despair and anger," thunders Carmela Auriemma, deputy group leader of the Five Star Movement in the Chamber of Deputies and the movement's provincial coordinator for Naples. "In 2026, it's unacceptable for a parent to have to explain their job loss to their children. The burden of shortsighted industrial decisions shouldn't be placed on workers." Auriemma insists: an extension of the Stellantis contract is needed, enough time for the ministerial meeting and the relocation of everyone.
Appeal to the Government: "Dignity is not about firing people."
The Five Star Movement representative doesn't stop there. "We will write again to the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, asking him to summon Stellantis and protect these families," she announces. "Work is dignity, and dignity doesn't mean dismissal." The goal remains the same: safeguard employment levels and prevent Neapolitan families from paying the price of a dispute that has been ongoing for almost two years.

Reading the article, it seems to me that the situation is truly serious; the workers deserve a little more attention from the government. I hope Minister Urso takes Auriemma's appeal seriously to find a solution.
