The escape and the denunciation
It all began yesterday afternoon, when a 28-year-old woman showed up at the intercom of the Carabinieri station in Villaricca, near Naples. She was visibly shaken and panicked. She was clutching the hand of a five-year-old boy, one of the couple's two children. That small hand was her lifeline, but also a silent testimony to a family hell.
The woman told officers she fled the apartment where she lives with her partner after suffering yet another brutal beating. Her body was marked by visible purple bruises, clear evidence of inescapable violence.
Jealousy as a pretext, beatings as a method
According to the reconstruction, yet another argument broke out over trivial reasons related to jealousy. Yet another pretext triggered her partner's reaction, which escalated into a barrage of slaps and kicks. Before investigators, the young mother finally broke her silence, recounting not only the recent incident, but a long ordeal of abuse and violence she had endured over the past few months.
The arrest and the shocking confession
After receiving the dramatic testimony, the Carabinieri immediately went to the man's home. It was at that point that the 31-year-old, perhaps realizing that his partner had finally found the courage to report him, attempted to downplay the incident.
