Naples – The Naples Police Headquarters continues its relentless patrol of the territory to curb drug dealing. The latest operation was carried out by officers from the Pianura Police Station, who on Wednesday morning arrested a 40-year-old man with a criminal record, caught with a veritable "drug warehouse."
The discovery in Via Torricelli
Investigators focused their attention on a cellar located on Via Evangelista Torricelli, owned by the forty-year-old. During a targeted search, they found numerous packages ready for sale inside the premises. The officers' keen eye and intelligence efforts led them to uncover the dealer's logistics base, hidden among the area's basements.
Drugs and money: the outcome of the seizure
The raid resulted in a significant drug seizure. In the cellar, officers found: 8 packages of cocaine (crack) weighing approximately 17 grams. 9 packages of hashish weighing approximately 60 grams.
In addition to the drugs, investigators seized the equipment needed to package the doses: a precision scale and various materials for cutting and packaging the drugs. Further evidence of the illegal activity was also seized, €790 in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations, likely the proceeds of drug dealing.
The 40-year-old Neapolitan man was arrested
At the end of the check, the man, a Neapolitan already known to law enforcement, was placed in handcuffs. The 40-year-old was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics and, by order of the judicial authorities, remanded in custody pending a summary trial. The operation confirms the State Police's constant vigilance in the city's neighborhoods, with a specific focus on areas most susceptible to drug dealing, such as Pianura.

It seems like a well-done operation, but the city needs to be more vigilant; citizens can't rest easy. The arrest was important because the drugs were hidden in the cellar, but more controls and prevention are needed; not just handcuffs and fines, but information and social support.
