Avellino – Officers from the Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza in Avellino intervened at a company manufacturing cranes, winches, and lifting equipment located in the province. During the inspection, they discovered that an area of approximately 6,000 square meters had been converted into an illegal landfill.
Inside the site, there were piles of decommissioned trucks, engine parts, tanks, excavators, and dismantled agricultural machinery, as well as a significant quantity of used oil and other hazardous waste. The presence of these materials, classified as hazardous waste, has
the precautionary seizure of the entire area was immediately triggered.
The company's manager has been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office for violating environmental regulations (Article 256-bis of the Environmental Code) and for illegal waste management.
According to the authorities, the company will now be responsible for removing all the waste, restoring the site to its original condition, and disposing of it in accordance with the procedures established by law.
The operation is part of an intensified territorial control activity by the Guardia di Finanza, aimed at combating the phenomenon of illegal waste dumping and protecting the environment and public health of local communities.

I partially agree, but details are lacking regarding who managed the waste and how the inspections were carried out. The company appears responsible, but the evidence should be clear: a precise inventory is needed, along with proper waste removal procedures.
It seems strange to me that an area of six thousand square meters has been transformed into such a vast landfill without any controls. Vehicles were piled up, used oil was everywhere, and no one stopped them. The authorities should have intervened, but the controls were ineffective, and responsibility is lost in the paperwork.
