A violent brawl between two Roma families rocked Avellino late yesterday evening, leaving one man in critical condition. The clash has resulted in a serious injury: a forty-nine-year-old man is hospitalized in critical condition at Moscati Hospital after being struck in the head during the violent confrontation.
The fight broke out in the prefabricated buildings of Contrada Quattrograna, a housing complex built after the earthquake and now occupied by several families. According to an initial reconstruction of events, approximately twenty people from the two families involved took part in the brawl. Several women were also involved in the fight.
The 49-year-old was reportedly struck in the head with a baseball bat during the scuffle. His condition immediately appeared serious, and he was rushed to the emergency room at Moscati Hospital in Avellino, where doctors diagnosed a serious head injury that required immediate surgery.
The tension, however, didn't stop at the scene of the brawl. The clash between the two groups reportedly continued inside the emergency room, when news of the injured man's worsening condition spread, creating moments of great agitation and alarm. Law enforcement intervened to restore calm and begin an investigation. The man believed to be responsible for the baseball bat attack was identified and taken into police custody.

It's a terrible thing to see, but I don't know if the authorities will do enough or not. We hope the injured person is saved soon and that a serious investigation is conducted, but we shouldn't judge without evidence or create unjustified panic.
I just saw the headline and I'm already worried. But we shouldn't make generalizations; families are like any other people, even if there are legal issues. It would be helpful to know the details of the facts, and let's hope that justice does its job quickly and fairly.
I don't know what to say; the news seems very confusing and worrying. The police intervened, but it's unclear what happened. Quattrograna has always been inhabited by many families. We hope the man makes it and the investigation continues without prejudice.
