Afragola – They are accused of turning the fragility of a disabled boy into a cruel pastime. For this reason, the Carabinieri of the Afragola company have executed a precautionary custody order against three men, aged between 19 and 33, held responsible for gang rape and aggravated stalking of a young man with a severe mental disability.

The investigation, coordinated by the North Naples Prosecutor's Office, reconstructed months of abuse and humiliation that took place in the heart of the historic center of the city north of Naples.

Months of violence and humiliation

According to the investigation, between July and October of last year the victim was subjected to almost daily harassment and assault.

The three suspects allegedly repeatedly forced him into the bathroom of a warehouse, allegedly owned by one of them, where the most serious assaults allegedly took place. The young man was allegedly beaten, insulted, denigrated, and forced to endure sexual abuse.

According to investigators, the attacks weren't limited to beatings. His tormentors allegedly stubbed out cigarette butts on his neck, even forcing him to eat raw onions while mocking and insulting him.

Horror videos spread on social media

The incidents apparently didn't stop with physical violence. The suspects filmed the scenes with their cell phones, turning them into horror videos that were then shared and circulated among acquaintances and social media contacts.

The circulation of some of these images contributed to bringing the story to light, which was later documented by investigators during the investigation.

The story told to the psychologist and the start of the investigation

The turning point came when the victim, who was being treated for her medical condition, was able to confide what was happening to a psychologist. The psychologist immediately reported the incident to the Prosecutor's Office of North Naples, triggering the Carabinieri's investigation.

The evidence gathered led the preliminary investigations judge to order the precautionary measure against the three alleged perpetrators.

The investigating judge: "It was pack logic, they did it for fun."

In the order, investigating judge Fabrizio Forte openly speaks of "gang logic." The violence, the order states, continued for three or four months, on an almost daily basis, while the suspects acted "with the strength and support of the group."

According to the judge, the attackers had demonstrated "total disregard for the victim's personality and physical and psychological integrity," taking advantage of his fragility "to torment him and meanly mock him for the sake of pure entertainment."

The nature of the attacks, the investigating judge emphasized, was particularly humiliating and mortifying, reducing the young man to a mere object of their sadistic pastime.

Threats after the complaint and another victim

The investigations also revealed a further disturbing element: after learning of the complaint, the group allegedly threatened to kill the victim and her family.

Furthermore, during the same period, the suspects allegedly targeted another boy with autism, stealing his bike and backpack "for fun," with the sole purpose—according to investigators—of provoking him to scream and mock him.
