ARZANO – Officially, it was an IT consulting center, duly registered in the Chamber of Commerce databases. In reality, according to the Carabinieri, something much more was hidden behind that door on Via Enrico Medi. A constant flow of customers, explicit reviews bouncing across chat rooms and social media, and persistent rumors circulating through the alleys of this town north of Naples drew the attention of the local police station.
"Great place, go there," read the messages, which had nothing to do with computers or software. The references to "Chinese girls" were anything but subtle. The Carabinieri followed the digital and street trail, setting up a targeted operation with plainclothes officers flanked by uniformed colleagues ready to intervene.
The raid took place this morning. Inside the apartment, a 51-year-old Chinese man, resident in Arezzo and owner of the business, and a 41-year-old Asian woman were identified. According to the reconstruction, the two initially failed to realize they were facing officers, mistaking them for customers.
During the search, the home was thoroughly searched. After the entrance, with a small desk and a kitchen to the side, a corridor led to four rooms separated by colorful, semi-transparent curtains instead of doors. Inside, four other Chinese women dressed in skimpy clothing. The Carabinieri seized material believed to be related to prostitution. Computers were present, but investigators determined they were not used for IT consulting. The 51-year-old man and the 41-year-old woman were charged with exploitation of prostitution. The apartment and the video surveillance system were seized.

I read the article and it seems confusing because so many little things don't add up: the so-called "IT consultancy" was used as a pretext, but why hadn't anyone reported it before? Maybe everyone was silent or indifferent.
I'm not judging, but the situation seems complicated: the neighbors reported constant comings and goings, and no one understood what was happening; perhaps the authorities didn't intervene either because there was a lack of evidence or because they were afraid of exposing themselves and speaking out.
It seems strange to me how it happened, I don't really understand how the police found everything; the online reviews said something completely different and people spoke but not clearly... perhaps there was some cover used as a shield for something more mysterious.
