Avellino – Another acquittal has been added to the criminal record of Gaetano Ronga, a thirty-year-old from San Martino Valle Caudina with numerous criminal cases under his belt.
The Avellino Court, fully accepting the defense's arguments, acquitted the man of the charge of violating precautionary measures, a crime that arose from a previous and complex legal case related to family dynamics.
The first degree and the reform on appeal
Ronga's legal case stems from far more serious charges. In the first instance trial, assisted by another lawyer, he was sentenced to three years in prison for mistreatment and assault against his live-in partner, a crime that allegedly continued since 2019.
However, the turning point came at the appeal stage. The Fourth Section of the Naples Court of Appeal, completely overturning the first-instance ruling, acquitted Ronga because "the fact did not exist." At the same time, the Neapolitan judges ordered his immediate release, revoking the precautionary measure. In effect, according to the courts, the abuse had never occurred.
The judicial "tail": the infringement trial
Despite his acquittal in the main trial, a collateral proceeding remained pending, considered a separate crime. During the period in which he was subject to precautionary measures (removal from the family home and a ban on approaching places frequented by his partner), Ronga had again found himself in trouble.
In July 2021, for an alleged violation of those same measures, his situation was aggravated with pre-trial detention under house arrest. This resulted in a separate trial for the violation.
Today's verdict
And it was in this "derivative" proceeding that today the Avellino Court once again endorsed the reasoning of attorney Vittorio Fucci, acquitting Gaetano Ronga. This decision comes after the main charges were dismissed, undermining the foundation of the entire prosecution case.
A series of favorable verdicts
As the defense emphasized, today's ruling is not an isolated one, but rather part of a broader context. "My client," the lawyer explained, "is obtaining acquittals in a multitude of trials, many of which involved multiple instances of violations of precautionary measures related to the facts originally contested. Today we can finally turn the page."

Interesting news, but it leaves many doubts; the process seems complex, and the justice system seems to change its mind frequently. The court has reformed the case, and then other proceedings have been initiated. The community remains confused and unsure what happened. It's unclear who will pay for the damages, and the people involved deserve clarification and concrete answers, not just papers.
