Ten mixed-breed dogs were rescued by Carabinieri forestry officers during an operation in Avella, in the province of Avellino, where they discovered an illegal shelter in a very dilapidated condition.
The animals were housed in dilapidated buildings and in conditions deemed unsanitary. During their inspection, the officers found the dogs clearly suffering. They were immediately secured and handed over to the local health authority's veterinary service for treatment and necessary health checks.
Following the investigation, the alleged manager of the facility, a 59-year-old man and longtime resident of Avella, was charged. At the same time, the area, covering approximately 200 square meters and used for the unauthorized activity, was placed under seizure.
After their recovery, the ten animals were transferred to the Luogosano judicial kennel, where they will remain at the disposal of the competent authorities and receive appropriate assistance and care. This operation is part of local control activities aimed at protecting animal welfare and combating illegal facilities.

It seems to me a very fair and necessary intervention, but at the same time I think that the situation was too serious to be ignored. He who was reported, I don't understand how, perhaps it should have been checked earlier; the children were mistreated, without hygiene, and I hoped that now they would receive treatment and stability, but prevention should have been done earlier.
I read this article carefully and believe the intervention was necessary. The Carabinieri did their job, but some details don't add up. The dogs were taken away and appear to have been saved, but who will look after them? The place was run-down and unsanitary. The complaint seems justified, but further investigation and clarification are needed.
