The discovery was made on the Bacoli coastline, specifically on the public beach of Via Miliscola. During patrols along the Phlegraean Fields coastline, Carabinieri officers from the Pozzuoli branch found and seized a suspicious bag abandoned on the beach.
Inside was a massive drug haul: 2.38 kg of hashish. The narcotic had already been carefully divided into 20 blocks, likely ready to be distributed to local drug dealers, fueling the illegal drug market that often thrives in the shadow of nightlife.
Widespread checks between Bacoli and Monte di Procida
The massive seizure in Miliscola is part of a broader and more extensive territorial control operation conducted by the Carabinieri. The military focused their attention on areas with high levels of evening and nighttime traffic between the municipalities of Bacoli and Monte di Procida.
Patrols patrolled the main roads and meeting places, identifying a total of 77 people and checking 50 vehicles in transit. The prevention effort also led to a crackdown on driving indiscipline: five fines were issued for violations of the Highway Code, totaling €1.500.
Counterfeit banknotes and reports
During the same operation, the checks were extended to include countering crimes against public trust. Two individuals were reported to the judicial authorities on charges of counterfeiting after being stopped and found in possession of counterfeit banknotes, presumably ready to be distributed in local businesses or establishments.
For one of the two arrested individuals, the situation worsened further: following checks in the database, a second report was filed as an illegal immigrant.

The discovery on the coast seems very strange: the Carabinieri found an abandoned bag containing 2,380 grams or 2,380 kilograms of hashish, already broken into twenty blocks, ready for sale. But how could they have left it like that on the kidney? The checks were necessary, but doubts remain, and the counterfeit banknotes further complicate the situation.
Important news, but it seems strange to me because it says they found 2 kg (380 grams) of hashish and a bag abandoned on a public beach. The Carabinieri conducted extensive checks, but the exact time and location of the numbers are not clearly disclosed. I hope the investigation continues and the community remains safer, but more transparency and verification are needed.
