Two areas seized and a businessman charged with a long list of environmental and urban planning offenses. This is the result of a check conducted by Carabinieri officers from the Casal di Principe station as part of their efforts to combat environmental crimes.
The investigation focused on a company operating in the production and marketing of construction materials, including cement. Following the investigation, the Carabinieri officers released a 28-year-old local man, the company's sole director, from custody.
The charges concern various offenses, including the unauthorized discharge of industrial wastewater, the abandonment and uncontrolled dumping of waste on the ground and in waterways, the irregular management of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste, and emissions into the atmosphere without the required permits. These are also in addition to construction violations and the unlawful change of use of agricultural land converted into an industrial area.
During the inspection, the Carabinieri located, within an initial fenced-off area, an illegal shredding operation and a large waste dump. The materials found included ferrous scrap, tires, used oil, mechanical components from cars and trucks, and sludge mixed with inert materials and rubble, used to cover part of the yard.
Further investigations led to the discovery of a second site, nearby and unfenced, where additional waste had been accumulated. In this case, the officers found vehicle parts, sheet metal, pipes, scrap metal, and several piles of waste materials, including those used in the production of concrete.
The two areas were also affected by the construction of illegal structures on land registered as agricultural and located in a hydrogeologically restricted area near the Regi Lagni. At the end of the operation, the Carabinieri ordered the seizure of both areas, while the entrepreneur was charged.

The situation seems complicated, but one must examine the documents and rulings; I'm not exaggerating immediately. The police found junk and waste everywhere, but perhaps there is shared responsibility and procedures not followed. The land, registered as agricultural, was transformed into an industrial area, suggesting a change of illegal use. Let's hope that justice takes its course correctly.
