Cassavatore – "Dirty" man caught with video surveillance. The local police, under the command of Commander Francesco Perrella, are taking decisive action. The new regulation on the video surveillance system, approved a few days ago by the City Council, is already producing tangible results.
The person responsible for an illegal waste dumping was identified using surveillance cameras. The vehicle used was immediately seized, and those responsible were reported and issued with a written report.
“A clear signal” said the mayor Fabrizio Celaj: “whoever pollutes and damages our
territory will be identified and prosecuted.”
A heartfelt thank you to the Local Police for their professional, timely, and responsible work. Their daily commitment is essential to ensuring compliance with the rules and protecting our community.
We intend to continue resolutely on this path, strengthening controls and fully enforcing the regulation, so that it is understood and clear that compliance is not an option, but a duty towards our land and the environment.
Protecting the land is everyone's responsibility."

I think the initiative is absolutely right, but I have many doubts, especially about how the procedures will be handled. The cameras captured the action, but what happens next? The vehicle was seized, but those responsible aren't clear. The mayor says it's a duty, but people don't always understand. More information is needed, and checks should be constant.
