Forio d'Ischia – A sudden heart attack has claimed the life of Renato Regine, Forio city councilor and a prominent figure in the island's private healthcare system. The news spread quickly through the streets of the island, sparking grief and disbelief among residents, colleagues, and patients. Regine, 70, originally from Forio, died a few hours ago from the fatal illness.
A highly experienced radiologist, for decades he was the driving force behind Ecorad, the diagnostic imaging center that made a decisive contribution to raising private healthcare standards on the island of Ischia. For nearly forty years, the facility he led has offered advanced technologies and quality services to thousands of patients, becoming a true point of reference for the entire region.
Alongside her medical practice, Regine has dedicated many years to political and administrative work. In the City Council, she has long been an authoritative and well-regarded voice, characterized by a strong capacity for dialogue, attention to the concrete problems of the local area, and a sense of civic responsibility.
His passing leaves a void not only in the council chamber: his place will be taken by attorney Laura Avvantaggiato. The community of Forio mourns today not only an administrator, but a man who combined professionalism, innovation, and a deep connection with his hometown. The condolences are unanimous: from the municipal administration to ordinary citizens, everyone recognizes in Regine a figure who has left a profound mark on the social, healthcare, and civic life of the island.

I'm sorry to hear about Renato. Regine was a well-known figure in Ischia, but I didn't know him well. The community now seems poorer, and the local health system has lost a point of reference. Many things will remain unresolved, and we hope someone else will step forward.
