Jlenia Musella, the knife wielded and stabbed by Giuseppe: investigators' lead confirmed

The technical investigations carried out by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office consolidate the reconstruction that emerged from the first hours: the knife that killed Jlenia Musella was not thrown, but rather held firmly by her brother Giuseppe, a self-confessed criminal.

Not a knife thrown at the end of a furious argument, but a weapon held firmly in the victim's hand and violently thrust until it pierced the victim's heart. This is the increasingly robust reconstruction of the murder investigation into Jlenia Musella, the 22-year-old woman killed on February 3 in Ponticelli, on the eastern outskirts of Naples.

His brother Giuseppe Musella, 28, is currently in prison for that crime. He confessed to investigators at the Police Headquarters and then reiterated his version of events before the judge.

The technical investigations ordered by the Naples Prosecutor's Office have apparently strengthened the investigative hypothesis that emerged from the very first moments after the crime. According to leaks, the evidence gathered leads investigators to believe that the knife was not thrown, but rather held by the killer when the fatal blow struck Jlenia in the chest.

This theory had been supported from the outset by the Flying Squad and the Public Prosecutor's Office, and was later reiterated by the investigating judge in his order ordering the 28-year-old's pre-trial detention.

The fight at home

The crime took place inside the apartment in the Conocal neighborhood where the two brothers lived together. It was within those walls that the argument that ultimately led to tragedy erupted. Investigators still believe the motive remains unclear, despite the suspect's confession.

According to Giuseppe Musella's account, the violent reaction arose from seemingly trivial reasons that escalated in a matter of moments: his sister's loud voice during a phone call while he was trying to rest, and then the 22-year-old's reaction, who, according to her version, kicked the man's pitbull.

A sequence that, however, although it fits into the 28-year-old's story, still does not exhaust all the investigators' doubts about the real reasons for the attack.

The tests on the dog

The forensic tests performed on the animal were also included in the file. The pit bull, according to the findings, had no injuries. However, traces of blood were found on the dog, likely belonging to Jlenia herself.

This detail adds to the investigative puzzle and helps reconstruct the dramatic moments following the attack, but it does not fully confirm the suspect's defense version of the alleged kicking of the animal.

The knife found under a van

Another crucial point concerns the murder weapon. The knife was not found lodged in the victim's back, but under a pickup truck. Yet, according to what has emerged, none of the people who reported witnessing the scene ever mentioned anyone removing it from Jlenia's body before the desperate rush to the hospital.

A detail considered relevant by investigators because it is compatible with a different dynamic than that of a weapon remaining lodged in the body after a throw.

This very fact, along with other technical evidence, reinforces the theory that the blow was inflicted at close range, with the knife gripped in the attacker's hand. This reconstruction further clarifies the incriminating case against the young woman's brother.

From confession to arrest

After the crime, Giuseppe Musella was questioned at the police station, where he confessed to what had happened. His version was later repeated before the judge. Based on his statements, initial findings, and in-depth investigations conducted by the Flying Squad and coordinated by the Naples Prosecutor's Office, the investigating judge ordered him to be held in prison.

The investigation, however, is not over. While the dynamics of the attack appear to be becoming clearer, there remains some uncertainty regarding the true motive that led the 28-year-old to attack his sister. And it is precisely in that segment, between the domestic dispute and the attack that ended Jlenia's life, that investigators continue to delve.

I read the article and try to understand, but the story seems confusing and doesn't add up. The knife was found under the van, the pitbull was uninjured but had traces of blood, the brother confessed but offers different versions. Investigators continue to dig for precise explanations.
