PThe Naples Police Headquarters' extraordinary operations to combat drug trafficking and dealing in the northern suburbs of the capital continue. Yesterday evening, officers from the Campania Crime Prevention Unit, in coordination with officers from the Giugliano-Villaricca Police Station, arrested a man in Marano di Napoli, catching him red-handed in possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing.
Control along Corso Europa
During a routine patrol, patrols monitored Corso Europa, one of the main thoroughfares in Marano di Napoli. While traveling along the street, officers noticed a 41-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement for a prior drug offense, riding a scooter and acting particularly suspicious. He was immediately stopped and searched.
The drugs hidden in the scooter
The search yielded an immediate positive result: 66 packages containing a total of 21 grams of cocaine, presumably ready for retail sale, were found in the man's possession. The quantity, while not significant, was nevertheless deemed consistent with drug dealing, especially in an urban context with a high consumption rate.
For these reasons, the 41-year-old was arrested for unlawful possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and taken to the police station. After the usual checks, the order was validated by the magistrate on duty: the suspect was placed under house arrest pending a validation hearing.

I read the news this morning and the police stopped a man in Marano. His scooter was full of bags and 66 packages, 21 grams? Apparently for drug dealing. Urban environments are very difficult, the checks were necessary, but the procedure seemed rushed, and the arrest was validated without much explanation.
