It was around 9 this morning when the driver of an ANM bus operating in Marano di Napoli was forced to stop the bus and call 112. An argument had broken out on board between two foreign citizens, which quickly degenerated into a dangerous situation for all the passengers on board.
The threat with the knife
A patrol from the Marano Carabinieri Company responded quickly to Via San Rocco. The officers arrested a 28-year-old Gambian man who, shortly before the police arrived, had pulled out a knife with a 22-centimeter blade and threatened another non-EU citizen, who had since left the vehicle. This action caused panic among the passengers remaining on board.
Arrested and taken to court
The 28-year-old was arrested and searched on the scene: the knife was seized. The man, already in handcuffs, was transferred to the Naples North Courthouse for a fast-track appearance. He will face charges of unjustified possession of offensive instruments, aggravated by the fact that he committed the crime on public transport.

I'm not sure of all the details but it seems very dangerous to me and yet no one reacted as they should have, perhaps out of fear or misunderstanding. The driver stopped the vehicle but the passengers seemed confused and scared and the police arrived too late in my opinion.
