Marano – The state's offensive against widespread lawlessness in the northern Naples area continues unabated. Yesterday morning, the municipality of Marano was the site of a massive extraordinary territorial control operation, coordinated by the Naples Police Headquarters.
A joint operation involving a massive force of the State Police (Flying Squad, Scampia and Giugliano-Villaricca Police Stations), Carabinieri, and Guardia di Finanza.
The activity, supported by the Campania Crime Prevention Department, the General Prevention Office, and the Metropolitan Police, aimed to saturate the city's hot spots to increase citizens' sense of safety and combat crime.
The balance: seizures and widespread sanctions
The operation's numbers paint a picture of a thorough investigation. During the operation, 318 individuals were identified, with a particular focus on those with criminal records. The work on the road traffic front was particularly effective: officers issued 47 fines for traffic violations and seized 11 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles that were not in compliance.
Monitoring didn't stop at roadblocks. Searches and inspections across the territory resulted in the seizure of several narcotics from the illegal market, including 16 grams of hashish and 5 grams of cocaine. The fight against smuggling was also significant: the military found and seized approximately 11 kilograms of foreign manufactured tobacco (TLE), ready to be released into the black market.
These checks are part of a broader strategy to monitor the area, aimed at restoring legality in particularly sensitive areas of the Neapolitan hinterland.

It seems like news to say that something is being done, but I don't know if it's enough, the checks are too sporadic and don't solve everything, then people remain doubtful, there are fines and seizures but the situation remains complicated, perhaps more will be needed.
