A roadside check turned into a seizure of potentially dangerous food. It happened in frignano, where the military of the Forestry Carabinieri of the core of marcianise they discovered a shipment of sheep and goat milk transported in seriously unhygienic conditions.
During a checkpoint operation to investigate the illegal transportation of waste, officers stopped a van on Via D'Azeglio. Inside, instead of waste materials, they found numerous blue bins with black lids, visibly dirty on the outside. Each of four of these containers held approximately sixty liters of milk, for a total of 240 liters.
The driver explained that he had picked up the milk from a local farmer and was headed to a dairy for processing. Immediate investigations, however, revealed several irregularities: the product was not refrigerated, the traceability documentation was completely missing, and the vehicle was not authorized to transport food.
Staff intervened on siteASL Caserta, who inspected the condition of the containers and the milk. The technicians declared the cans damaged and heavily soiled, and also found foreign residues on the surface of the liquid that did not comply with health regulations.
Based on the investigation, the police charged the transporter with possession of poorly preserved foodstuffs. The man was charged at liberty, while the four milk cans were seized. For health and food safety reasons, the entire quantity was then destroyed by an authorized company, after the matter was reported to the judicial authorities.

It seems like a very worrying situation, but not a cause for panic. The goat's milk was in dirty bins, not refrigerated, and there was no traceability. The driver said it was headed to the dairy, but the paperwork wasn't correct. Let's hope the authorities intervene and resolve the problem.
