Naples – An incredible episode occurred in the last few hours in the wards of Monaldi Hospital, where healthcare workers found themselves facing a situation as surreal as it was tense.
Carabinieri from the Naples Mobile Radio Unit had to intervene urgently to calm the situation and restore safety within the city hospital.
The bizarre claim in the department
The protagonist of the incident is a 55-year-old Neapolitan woman, who was at the hospital to care for her sister, who is currently hospitalized in one of the wards of the hillside facility. According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction, the 55-year-old approached the healthcare workers on duty and made a request that was completely out of the ordinary and contrary to all health and hygiene regulations.
The woman, in fact, demanded that doctors and nurses warm a urine bag, with the specific intention of using it as a sort of "hot water bottle" to relieve the discomfort of her sister who was in the hospital.
The refusal and the intervention of the Carabinieri
Faced with firm and inevitable opposition from the hospital staff, the situation quickly escalated. When the paramedics refused, the fifty-five-year-old woman lost control and began making serious threats towards those in front of her. Only the timely arrival of the Mobile Radio Unit patrol prevented worse consequences and restored calm to the facility.
The Carabinieri identified the woman and reported her to the judicial authorities on charges of threatening. Fortunately, the outburst did not cause any material damage to the equipment, nor did it disrupt the regular provision of care to other patients.

It seems like a strange and slightly unbelievable story to me. The situation at Monaldi Hospital is chaotic. The police arrived to calm things down. The woman insisted they warm a bag of urine as a water bottle. The staff said no, and she said yes. She became angry and threatened with harsh words. No material damage occurred, but there was a lot of disorder in the wards.
