Naples – Fifteen minutes of pure terror, with a knife held to the throat. This was the result of yesterday's wild night on the streets of Naples, where a 39-year-old man stabbed a woman on the ANM C32 bus on Via Simone Martini, turning a peaceful evening into a waking nightmare.

The dynamics of the aggression

According to initial reports, the attacker—a man already known to medical facilities for serious psychiatric problems—striked the victim suddenly and for no reason. He then held her at knifepoint for approximately 15 minutes. The 39-year-old barricaded himself aboard the bus.

When he was stopped and subsequently searched, the officers discovered that the man was not armed with just one blade: he was in fact hiding a second knife on his person, ready for use.

The man was immediately handcuffed and taken to the Poggioreale prison. The charges against him are serious: kidnapping and grievous bodily harm.

The victim, visibly in shock and injured, was promptly treated by emergency medical services and rushed to Cardarelli Hospital. Although doctors deemed her injuries serious, the woman's life is fortunately not in danger, but she remains under observation to monitor her clinical condition and the severe psychological trauma she suffered.

Dozens of citizens filmed with their cell phones the intervention of the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile unit of Naples, who at around 22 pm managed to free the 39 year old from the enraged crowd,
