Naples – State Police raided a gang specializing in robberies at gas stations in the Vesuvius area. This morning, officers executed a precautionary measure order issued by the Nola Court at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

The measure affects six people: five were placed in pre-trial detention, while the judge ordered a sixth suspect to remain in his municipality of residence and report to the judicial police.

The suspects are considered seriously suspected of being part of a criminal organization aimed at committing numerous crimes against property and public order.

Robberies and attacks on petrol stations

According to the reconstruction by investigators from the Flying Squad, the group allegedly carried out a series of aggravated robberies and thefts between July 25 and November 22, 2025.

The gang's main targets were the employees of several fuel stations, as well as some users and customers of commercial establishments.

The attacks were committed in various towns in the Vesuvian area and the Neapolitan hinterland: Sant'Anastasia, Somma Vesuviana, Pomigliano d'Arco, Casalnuovo, Castello di Cisterna, Acerra, and Afragola.

The charges include aggravated robberies, as well as illegal possession and carrying of weapons, receiving stolen goods, and feigning a crime.

The gang's hideout

The investigations also revealed that the suspects were not acting on an occasional basis, but as part of an organized structure.

According to investigators, the group had a full-fledged hideout used as a logistics base. The hideout allegedly stored weapons, stolen vehicles, and other equipment used to plan and execute the robberies.

The evidence gathered by investigators allowed the Nola Prosecutor's Office to contest the existence of a stable and organized criminal organization, which culminated in the issuing of the precautionary measures carried out this morning.
