Protesting parents and children staying home to denounce a situation they call unsustainable. This happened in Naples in front of the Alberto Mario Comprehensive School, where dozens of families organized a sit-in to protest what they believe is mismanagement of the school.

Symbolic funeral posters were also displayed during the demonstration, used as a form of protest to represent the "funeral" of the public school, according to the parents themselves. The initiative was accompanied by the decision not to send their children to class, in an attempt to draw the authorities' attention to the school's situation.

Families are reporting management, organizational, and interpersonal issues that have been weighing on school life for months. A document signed by numerous mothers emphasizes that the critical issues are now such that immediate intervention is necessary.

According to parents, the situation has reached paradoxical levels. Some families say they're forced to contribute personally to even the most basic expenses. "We've gotten to the point of taxing ourselves and even bringing our own toilet paper," said one of the mothers present at the protest.

Among the issues reported are the appointment of a special administrator to the school board and an internal situation made even more complicated by the resignations and transfers of several school management staff. These circumstances, according to families, risk jeopardizing the smooth running of the school year for elementary and middle school students.

Through their protest, the families are demanding immediate intervention from the relevant authorities. In the document released during the sit-in, parents appeal to school authorities to conduct an investigation into the actual condition of the school and to take urgent measures to restore the school's normal operation.
