Naples – On Friday evening, law enforcement officers conducted a comprehensive patrol in Naples' historic center, as part of the measures implemented by the Police Headquarters to address issues related to nightlife. Personnel from the Decumani and Dante Police Stations of the State Police, along with members of the Carabinieri, the Guardia di Finanza, and the Local Police, with the technical support of ASL workers, combed the streets of the city's historic heart.
The intervention resulted in 78 identified individuals and 17 inspected businesses. Of the latter, 11 owners were fined for violations of varying nature and severity. The most frequent irregularities involved: Failure to comply with regulations
HACCP (food hygiene and safety)
Illegal occupation of public land
Exceeding the noise impact limits
Lack of health SCIA
Failure to issue receipts
The administrative fines imposed totaled €2.000. The operation is part of a broader strategy to control and monitor areas with high nighttime traffic, aiming to ensure greater safety, legality, and compliance with regulations to protect both residents and nightlife users.
Similar checks will continue in the coming weeks, also in light of recent municipal ordinances regarding hours and noise limits in sensitive areas of the historic center.

It seems like a necessary initiative, but not everything is clear: the checks have been very intense, but it seems that the fines aren't solving the problem; many owners are confused and don't understand the rules, there's a lack of clarity on opening hours and procedures, and people continue to make noise at night.
