Qualiano – On the afternoon of Friday, March 13, 2026, Carabinieri officers from the Qualiano station ordered a Toyota Aygo traveling on Via di Vittorio to stop. The driver disobeyed the signal, triggering a pursuit characterized by high speed and reckless maneuvers through the streets of the town.
To stop their escape, a second Jeep intervened, blocking the road, forcing the two young men to stop. Following a check, the occupants—a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old, both with no criminal record—were found in possession of two doses of hashish. Furthermore, the driver had never held a driving license.
The chase and arrest
During questioning, the 20-year-old stated, "I ran away to avoid a fine." Both were arrested for reckless escape, resisting a public officer, and possession of narcotics. A summary trial following the arrest was held this morning.

It seems like a complicated situation, but not everything is clear; the two boys ran away to avoid a fine, they say, but that doesn't justify their dangerous maneuvers. The unlicensed car, moreover, suggests disorganization; the police stopped it and it's all over; let's hope for proper proceedings.
