It all happened on Via Vittorio, in the municipality of Qualiano, in the Varcaturo area. Carabinieri from the Giugliano in Campania Company, on territorial control duty, intercepted a scooter with two minors on board.
When asked to stop, the two refused, accelerating and taking a reckless drive through the city center. The officers began a pursuit, remaining within a few meters, but the young men ignored every command, continuing to zigzag dangerously.
The crash into the patrol car that was closing the street
In an attempt to block the escape, a second patrol intervened, attempting to close off every possible escape route. Despite the Carabinieri's vigilance, the scooter driver failed to slow down and crashed into the Gazelle.
After the accident, the military proceeded with an administrative check: the scooter was found to be uninsured, further grounds for its seizure.
Fourth case in two weeks
The incident is part of an alarming pattern of recidivism. This is the fourth case in two weeks in which teenagers, in stolen or non-registered vehicles, attempted to flee from a Carabinieri checkpoint, creating high-risk situations for the safety of officers and passersby. The two minors have been reported to the Naples Juvenile Court for resisting arrest and fleeing a public official.

It seems like a serious incident, but little explanation has been given. The group didn't stop and raced dangerously through narrow streets. The Carabinieri tried to block the crash, but it still happened. There's no information on how it happened, or whether the vehicles were stolen or uninsured. They say it's the fourth case, but it's unclear how the prevention measures were implemented and who's patrolling the area.
