San Giorgio a Cremano – A 70-year-old man was arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of stalking and criminal damage after a night of terror at a home in San Giorgio a Cremano.

According to the reconstruction, the elderly man, under the influence of drugs, attempted to force his way into the house and then flood the apartment using a garden hose inserted through a window.

The screams and the banging on the door

The 69-year-old ex-wife and their daughters were at home at the time of the incident. The women, frightened by the screams and punches being thrown at the door, allegedly refused to open it. At that point, the man allegedly began hitting the door with his motorcycle helmet, increasing the tension and fears that the situation could escalate.

The damage and the call to 112

According to the reconstruction, the 70-year-old then grabbed a metal club and smashed the woman's car window. Meanwhile, the women had already contacted 112 and remained on the line asking for help, while the man continued to hit and threaten.

The pipe in the kitchen and the attempted flooding

Shortly before the arrival of the Carabinieri from the San Giorgio a Cremano station, the man reportedly took a garden hose from the garden, inserted it into the kitchen window, and turned on the tap in an attempt to flood the house.

The officers reportedly found him still outside, intent on hitting the door with some plastic chairs. At that point, he was arrested.

The precedents told in the family context

The document also states that the man was living with his wife despite the end of their relationship and that, in the past, no complaints, reports, or emergency room visits had ever been filed. Previous incidents of alleged violence, attributed to drug abuse, are also cited.
