Marano – A night of fear and adrenaline unfolded last night between Marano and Villaricca, when Carabinieri officers from the Giugliano Company launched a thrilling chase that ended with the arrest of two people and the filing of a third accomplice, who is still wanted.
The alarm and the chase
It all began late in the evening, when a patrol car from the Operations Section, on territorial patrol, caught three individuals stealing a Fiat 500 on Via Castel Belvedere in Marano. The timely alarm triggered the emergency response team.
As the criminals fled in the stolen car, the 112 operations center immediately alerted the Mobile Radio unit, which had just left the Giugliano barracks. A few frantic words over the radio were enough to outline the situation: three men fleeing in a stolen Fiat 500, headed toward Villaricca.
The pincer maneuver
The Gazelle crew immediately activated their sirens and launched a pursuit. The situation became heated on Corso Europa, in Villaricca, where the fugitives were speeding, endangering the safety of passersby.
The Carabinieri, in a coordinated maneuver worthy of an action movie, began to tighten their grip on the thieves, blocking every possible escape route. The tension was palpable.
The crazy escape attempt
Under pressure, the driver of the Fiat 500 lost control of the vehicle, crashing violently into a curb. Panic took over: two of the attackers jumped out of the car and fled on foot through the streets near a well-known local fast food restaurant. The third attempted to escape toward the Mugnano roundabout.
The outcome: two arrested
But the officers' response was lightning-fast. The two fugitives who had headed toward the McDonald's were apprehended and handcuffed within seconds. The search for the third accomplice, however, is still ongoing.
The two detainees, whose identities have not yet been released, were arrested on charges of attempted robbery (as they were caught immediately after the theft), resisting a public officer, and dangerous escape. They were placed under house arrest.
The damaged Fiat 500 was recovered and returned to its rightful owner, while the Carabinieri are continuing their investigations to track down the third member of the gang.

Nice article, but it seemed like a movie. The police didn't give up, but the thieves were running away too fast, and the car hit the sidewalk. Two were arrested, and the other one is still running away. I hope they find him soon. The city is shaken, and security needs to be strengthened immediately.
