Naples – Transforming a tragedy into a lifeline for those facing the same ordeal. In this spirit of solidarity, compassion, and civic engagement, the Domenico Caliendo Foundation will officially be founded in Naples on March 18th.
The meeting, open to the press and television crews, is scheduled for 18:00 PM at Via dei Mille 16. The articles of association that will give legal status to the organization will be signed before notary Roberto Dante Cogliandro, in the presence of Domenico's parents and members of the Promotion Committee.
The fundraising goal: "Pain becomes commitment"
The foundation's creation is the culmination of a campaign that transcended the city's boundaries. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the €30 goal has been reached, the sum needed to transform an idea sparked by affection into a solid, structured project.
"We thank all of Italy for its unprecedented warmth and support, which has allowed us to reach this goal," the Committee's representatives explained in a statement. "This is a significant achievement, one that goes precisely in the direction of transforming grief into commitment. But it is not a finish line; on the contrary, we see it as a first step toward building a home where those experiencing grief similar to that of Mother Patrizia know they are not alone."
The Committee also emphasizes how this outpouring of empathy has been crucial for the Caliendo family, reiterating the call to keep the support network alive: "We want to transform this spontaneous movement into something structured, and to do so, we still need everyone's support and solidarity."
A beacon against medical malpractice: assistance and awareness
The primary mission of the newly formed Foundation will be to provide comprehensive support to those who believe they are victims of medical malpractice. The organization aims to act as a shield and guide for affected families, guaranteeing assistance on multiple fronts: from the strictly legal to the relational and psychological, often overlooked but vital for overcoming the trauma.
In addition to providing direct assistance, the Domenico Caliendo Foundation aims to keep the young man's memory alive through public initiatives and awareness campaigns, focusing on the risks of medical malpractice and the need to protect citizens' rights to health.
We remind you that it is possible to donate by bank transfer to IBAN IT65W0321103400052168161620 in the name of “Comitato Domenico Caliendo” or to the contact details found on https://www.fondazionedomen

A nice initiative, but I don't know if it's enough. I hope it will help many affected families; however, the information is sparse and poorly written, contact information is sometimes unclear, and people can't find a way to turn. Let's hope the foundation does what it promises and stays close to everyone.
