NOLA – No lights, no applause. Just silence and respect. During the funeral of little Domenico Caliendo, the child who tragically died due to a heart transplant error, Sal Da Vinci has decided to postpone the celebrations for his fifty-year career, initially scheduled for March 4th.

The little boy's funeral will be held in the cathedral of Nola, amidst an atmosphere of profound grief that has affected the entire community. The coincidence of the artistic celebration and the child's final farewell had raised concerns among some residents. The Alliance of the Greens and the Left MP, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who said he received a message from a citizen and contacted the artist.

The response, Borrelli reported, was immediate: "The child comes first." A decision born out of respect for the family and a city shaken by a tragic event. In days marked by mourning, the artist chose to put aside the celebration of a major career milestone, preferring collective grief to a moment of personal celebration.

Borrelli called the gesture an act of great humanity, emphasizing how decisions like this demonstrate sensitivity and care for a wounded community. Postponing such a significant event, he added, means recognizing the value of the life and memory of a child lost too soon.
