Naples – A high-speed chase, a near-ramming, and, ultimately, the discovery of a secure warehouse loaded with narcotics. In Giugliano in Campania, Carabinieri officers from the mobile radio unit put an end to the dangerous pursuit of two young Neapolitans, aged 19 and 20. They are now under arrest for resisting arrest, dangerous flight, and possession of drugs with intent to sell.
At 200 an hour on the Central Axle
It all began around 14:00 PM, when a patrol ordered a roaring Volkswagen Golf GTI with Polish license plates to stop. Instead of pulling over, the driver slammed his foot on the accelerator, sparking a desperate stampede that quickly spilled out onto Asse Mediano.
The speedometer reached peaks of 200 kilometers per hour, with the car hurtling through the streets of Arzano and Casoria, endangering the lives of motorists. In a moment of heightened tension, the Golf even attempted to ram another Carabinieri vehicle that had intervened to block the road, managing to temporarily disappear into the maze of streets between Casavatore and Secondigliano.
The drug lords' treasure
The military's rapid investigation continues, allowing them to track down and arrest the two men shortly thereafter. During a personal search, the key detail emerges: a set of garage keys. Inside the unsuspecting garage, the Carabinieri find not only the sports car, still warm from its escape, but a veritable drug dealing warehouse.
The seizure included ten blocks of hashish weighing nearly 900 grams, 150 grams of "smoke" and marijuana, and 230 grams of cocaine already divided into 295 doses ready for distribution. In addition to the drugs, the officers seized €655 in cash, precision scales, two cell phones, and various packaging materials.
Investigations are now continuing to establish the roles of the two arrested men and their connections to organized crime. It will be necessary to determine whether they were merely custodians of the drugs or dealers, and then establish who their suppliers were and who they were dealing on behalf of. These are all questions the two men will have to answer to the magistrates when their arrest is validated.
The alarm for the leaks
The Giugliano incident highlights an alarming trend sweeping the entire metropolitan area. This is the third arrest for "dangerous escape" made by the Carabinieri in Naples and the surrounding province in just a few days.
A trail of high speeds and reckless maneuvers spans the region from north to south. Last Friday, a carbon-copy incident occurred in the Barra neighborhood, followed on Saturday by another heart-pounding chase on the streets of Pozzuoli.

The news seems worrying to me, but not everything seems clear; the young men aren't saying anything; perhaps they're just custodians, or perhaps they're drug dealers. The police stopped them and found the garage, but the chase on the Asse Mediano was extremely dangerous for the people, but the warehouse found seems too large, and we need to figure out who was supplying them and who they were working for.
