Caserta—A fight that erupted over trivial matters quickly escalated into a violent brawl between young women. It happened on the night between Saturday and Sunday between Via del Redentore and Piazza Ruggiero, in the heart of the city, where the intervention of the Carabinieri put an end to the fight between four girls, three of them minors.

It was just after 3 a.m. when the operations center of the Single European Emergency Number 112 received several reports of a fight in progress between several people, accompanied by the throwing of objects and glass bottles.

The intervention of the military and the reconstruction of the facts

The officers of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Caserta Carabinieri Company arrived on the scene within minutes, finding numerous groups of young people still present in the area.

Initial investigations revealed that shortly before, near a business on Via del Redentore, a heated argument had erupted between several young women. The argument quickly escalated into a brawl, which then escalated violently to Piazza Ruggiero.

Identification efforts, supported by testimonies gathered from those present, allowed the participants in the altercation to be identified: a 19-year-old woman and three minors, all residents of Caserta and surrounding municipalities. According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction, the initial argument between two youths subsequently involved the other two, escalating into a full-blown brawl.

Strands of hair and broken glass on the asphalt

During the inspection, the Carabinieri found numerous strands of hair scattered on the ground, fragments of broken glass bottles, and a smartphone attributable to one of the girls involved, evidence of the violence of the clash.

The 19-year-old was the worst off, injured during the fight and rescued by 118 emergency personnel. She was transported to Caserta Hospital, where she remained under observation for treatment. Another girl complained of headaches but refused to be transferred to the hospital.

Reported for brawling: Prosecutors informed

All those involved were escorted to the Caserta Carabinieri offices on Via Laviano for the necessary formalities. The young women were informed of their legal qualifications and asked to appoint a lawyer.

The parents of the three minors were immediately notified, and they were subsequently handed over to them following the investigations.

Both the Naples Juvenile Prosecutor's Office and the Public Prosecutor's Office responsible for the adult's case were informed of the incident.

The four girls were charged at liberty with brawling. Their status is now under judicial review.

Sad news, but I couldn't understand how everything could get out of hand so quickly; perhaps there was a lack of security in public places, perhaps it was a personal issue. I hope clarity is shed and concrete educational interventions are implemented, not hasty solutions.

I partially agree, but I think schools and families should also do more, without immediately blaming them. We need open dialogue and prevention programs that better explain the risks; simply reporting and moving on isn't enough.

Reading the article, it seems to me that the situation escalated too quickly, without precautions and without adults intervening. We need to work on education, monitoring, and providing safe spaces for young people; law enforcement has done its part, but many questions remain about the causes and responsibilities.
