Avellino - An earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale was clearly felt by residents this morning, shortly after 7:28 am.
The seismic event was recorded by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), which located the epicenter in the municipality of Forino, in the province of Avellino, at a depth of just 5,6 kilometers.
Despite its modest magnitude, the shallow nature of the earthquake and the location of its epicenter, located in the area bordering Irpinia and the province of Salerno, meant that the tremor was felt across a fairly wide area. As often happens in these cases, social media acted as a sounding board for residents' momentary fears.
Numerous reports have been received, not only from neighboring municipalities in the Avellino area, but also from those in the neighboring Irno Valley, in the Salerno area, where many residents reported hearing a brief but distinct boom and a slight vibration.
At this time, checks conducted by the Civil Protection and Fire Department have revealed no damage to people or property. Local inspections, especially in the towns closest to the epicenter, are continuing to avert any consequences related to the earthquake.

I don't know, reading the article it seems correct to me but I don't understand exactly where the epicentre was, you write Forino but other towns also felt it, people were woken up and said a roar and a slight vibration, the checks by the fire brigade and civil protection are underway but more clarifications are needed.
