Giugliano – It wasn't a movie set, nor were the streets of Shanghai serving as a backdrop, but reality intersects with fiction in a bizarre and dangerous way. Carabinieri from the Licola station arrested a 32-year-old local man, caught with an illegal arsenal during a routine traffic stop.
A check that is anything but ordinary
The scene that presented itself to the military late yesterday evening brought to mind the famous opening sequences of “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”.
If in Spielberg's film the young Shorty was driving the car while the archaeologist returned fire with a .38 caliber pistol, in the hamlet of Licola the situation was decidedly less heroic: the man was driving his own car with his underage son inside, but with a gun identical to Harrison Ford's hidden on his person.
The Carabinieri found the weapon loaded and ready for use, along with a supply of bullets: 16 rounds in total, some of which were already in the man's pockets.
The second revolver under the kitchen
The search didn't stop at the street. The search was immediately extended to the 32-year-old's home, revealing a systematic handling of clandestine weapons. Under the kitchen wainscoting, cleverly concealed, the officers discovered a second weapon:
Model: Colt Trooper;
Features: Erased serial number;
Status: Illegal.
The 32-year-old was immediately placed in handcuffs. He was transferred to prison on charges of possession of illegal weapons and receiving stolen goods, awaiting trial before the judicial authorities. The origin of the weapons and the reason for the man's carrying a weapon, especially in the presence of his young son, remain unclear.

I don't really understand the situation but it seems very dangerous. The controls seemed to be missing and the man was driving with his small son and a hidden gun. Who knows where the weapons came from. I hope that the justice system will clarify the situation and the child will receive immediate assistance and protection.
