The Naples Police Headquarters continues to implement extraordinary measures to combat the illegal distribution of weapons and drug trafficking in the city.
As part of these operations, yesterday morning, officers from the Flying Squad arrested a 20-year-old Neapolitan man, suspected of illegal possession of a common firearm with related ammunition and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
Control in the home
The operation was triggered during a series of targeted checks in the Barra neighborhood. The officers went to the young man's home to conduct a house search.
During the investigation, the officers discovered a small arsenal and a significant quantity of drugs, carefully hidden, inside a bedroom closet.
The gun with the erased serial number and the drugs
A Ruger pistol with a scratched-off serial number, a magazine with two cartridges, and 57 9×21 caliber bullets were found in the piece of furniture.
During the search, seven packages containing approximately 350 grams of "pink cocaine" were also seized, as well as precision scales and various materials used to package the doses.
In light of the findings, the young man was arrested by officers of the Flying Squad and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The operation is part of efforts to combat the circulation of illegal weapons and drug dealing in the eastern neighborhoods of Naples.
