NAPLES – A man was transporting approximately 200 kilograms of hazardous waste without any authorization and without documents certifying its origin and destination. For this reason, he was reported to the judicial authorities after being stopped by the Metropolitan Police in Secondigliano. Metropolitan City of Naples.

The check was carried out as part of the activities to combat the illegal transport and disposal of waste, which were also intensified in light of the operational indications following the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights on the Terra dei Fuochi case and shared within the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety.

Inside the vehicle, officers found ferrous materials and discarded electrical and electronic equipment, including a washing machine, an oven, a stovetop, and a bed rail. This waste is classified as special, requiring specific permits for transportation and traceability, requirements that were completely disregarded in this case.

The checks revealed further irregularities. The vehicle was uninsured and lacked a valid inspection, while the driver did not have a valid driving license. This situation led to the vehicle being seized and charges for violations of the Highway Code totaling approximately €7.

Following the investigation, the man was charged with illegal waste management. The operation is part of a broader plan of local controls aimed at combating phenomena that fuel environmental pollution and urban decay.
